Climb up the rock scramble to the viewpoint. From the top, enjoy panoramic views of Shenandoah Valley and the Virginia Piedmont.

Turn right onto the connector trail and jump on the Appalachian Trail north. Then turn left at the intersection to return to the parking lot.

To avoid the rock scramble, take the Appalachian Trail south to the connector trail. Turn left onto the connector trail, then right onto the Bearfence Loop Trail. Enjoy the viewpoint on the right, then retrace your steps back to the parking lot.

The Bearfence Viewpoint Trail takes you to an beautiful 180° view of Shenandoah Valley. You need to climb through the rock scramble for the total panoramic view.

If you decide to climb the rocks for the full view, you can always take the rock scramble back down the trail. Then follow the Bearfence Loop Trail back to the parking lot.
