Our Story: A Wedding on the Massanutten Storybook Trail

We dreamed of a scenic mountain wedding, but we needed a trail that everyone could navigate. The Storybook Trail had it all: stunning scenery, easy access, and a special place in our hearts.

George Washington National Forest set the scene for so many of our milestones. We camped together for the first time and got engaged within those woods. It felt only fitting to begin our greatest adventure in a place so intertwined with our journey.

On the first day of fall, surrounded by late September leaves scattered like golden confetti, we said “I do.” Gentle rain misted over the trail, shrouding the views in a dreamy haze. The mountains peeked through the clouds, adding a magical quality to the setting. It felt like a moment straight out of a fairytale.

Whether it’s a wedding, a first hike, or a quiet afternoon, the Storybook Trail invites everyone to explore. It’s the perfect place to fall in love—with nature, with adventure, and even your own greatest story.

So, what story will you write here?
